Temporary email for free downloads: get the link, keep the file
You find a free meal plan, study guide, or budget sheet. The site asks for your email before it sends the link. You want the guide. You do not want weeks of sales emails.
A temporary inbox can help if you only need one email right now.
Is this a good fit?
- The guide is free.
- The site sends a link right away.
- You do not need to log in again later.
Check the form first. You may be able to skip the email field or say no to the mailing list.
Get the link in four steps
- Open TossMyMail and copy your address.
- Paste it into the form. Check the site’s rules.
- Return to your inbox. Keep this tab open.
- Open the email and check the link before you use it. Save the guide on your device.
Watch the timer
Your inbox starts with 10 minutes. You can add time, up to 30 minutes in all. Once it ends, you cannot read new mail or get the inbox back.
TossMyMail does not show file attachments. It works best when the email has a link in plain text. Some sites block temporary addresses.
When to use your main email
Use an address you will keep if the guide costs money, arrives next week, or comes in parts. You may need a receipt or more links later.
For a course with weekly lessons, an email alias is a better fit. An alias is a spare address that sends mail to your main inbox.
Example: save a free study checklist
The form says it will email a PDF link now. Copy your temporary address, submit the form, and return to the inbox. Open the message. Check that the link goes to the site you used. Download the PDF, then open the saved file on your device before the inbox ends.
Saving the file is the key step. A bookmark to the email does not save it. A download link may also stop working later.
If the download does not work
- No message: check the address and timer, then follow the missing-email checklist.
- PDF attached to the email: TossMyMail cannot show attachments. Look for a web download option or use a lasting inbox.
- Lessons arrive over several days: use an alias or your main inbox from the start.
- The link asks you to sign in again: keep the account only if you can change and confirm its email before this inbox ends.
Before you close the tab
Open the saved file, check it is the guide you wanted, and keep it in a folder you can find. You should not need to return to this email.
